Hendon Central Shopping Centre was our first project with Thirteen Commercial, marking the beginning of a great partnership. They chose us for our experience in retail and commercial spaces, with the goal of creating more than just a shopping centre—it had to be a lively community hub where people could gather, spend time, and enjoy events, much like a town square. This vision came to life through thoughtful design choices, including brickwork, custom planter boxes that double as seating areas, and tiered building volumes that naturally draw people toward the centre. At the heart of it all is a striking canopy, making a bold statement from Tapleys Hill Road. One challenge was ensuring the centre blended smoothly with the nearby residential area, creating a welcoming and well-connected space. Anchored by locally owned Romeo’s Foodland, the centre also features First Choice Liquor, a mix of local food and service-based retailers, and international fast-food outlets, making it a vibrant destination for the community.
